FAQ

Hopefully this section will answer most of your questions about Physical Therapy, Functional Medicine and the Health and Wellness questions you might have.  If you don't see your question here, please reach out by submitting a question through the "Contact Us" section below

  • Can I submit claims to my insurance company?
In some cases you can submit claims to your insurance company as an out-of-network claim. You'll need to check with your insurance carrier to see if this is an option, and I can't guarantee that the claim will be accepted. Live Well and Move uses the GetHealthie EMR and can produce the appropriate suberbills if requested.
  • Do you accept Medicare/Medicaid?
Unfortunately, I do not treat Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare has created a situation in which Physical Therapists cannot opt out of Medicare guidelines when treating Medicare beneficiaries for services that are considered "medically necessary." This means that a patient would have to pay based on the Medicare fee schedule and then submit directly to Medicare to wait for reimbursement. In some cases, Medicare beneficiaries can participate with non-medically necessary activities, and this can be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions, please contact us at 682-559-2878!
  • What is Functional Medicine?
Functional medicine looks at the person as a whole. Rather than focusing on a symptom and trying to give it a diagnosis, Functional Medicine looks at the person as a whole, and identifies the root cause of dysfunction. From there, a personalized treatment plan is created to guide you through the process of eliminating or reducing the root cause, and this will eliminate or reduce the downstream symptom.
  • Do you perform "regular" physical therapy?"
I'm a licensed physical therapist in Arizona, LPT 007812. I have been licensed since 2007 and in good standing with the AzPTA (physical therapy association). I am certified and practiced in "regular" physical therapy modalities, including exercise, manual treatments, dry needling, "cupping", and other standard therapy approaches. I'm not a "regular" therapist, in that you will have my 100%, undivided and total attention for a full 60 mintues!
  • Do you work with kids?
Physical therapy and Functional Medicine can certainly be applied to younger folks, however, experience in that field and with that population is necessary to make a great impact. I have been working with Junior High and High School aged kids since starting my PT practice, and can confidently help that age group. Because of my location and experience, I don't offer treatments for younger kids (age 0-10). However, please feel free to contact me, as your child deserves the best treatment possible, and I'd be happy to help you connect with the right provider!
